Bokamoso Youth Centre provides youth from previously disadvantaged backgrounds with various skills development trainings to empower them to become self-reliant.

From inception our purpose has always been to care for the economic and social development of the disadvantaged community members of Greater Alexandra and surrounding areas. We believe that by equipping and providing youth with economic skills whilst caring for their social needs they will grow to become self-reliant and lead sustainable lives.

What is the purpose of this programme?

The purpose of Cosmetology training is designed to train the student in the practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and professional attitudes necessary to obtain licensure and for
competency in entry-level positions in the Cosmetology profession or to start their own businesses.

Who can apply?

• Must not be in employment, education or training
• Must be South African Citizen with Valid ID Number
• Must have minimum Grade 11 & 12
• Must have passion for beauty business
• SRD Grant recipients are encouraged to apply
• Reside in Township, Informal Settlement or Hostel (TISH)

What will be covered in the course?

• Education: Grade 11 & 12
• Previous Training: Experience, self-taught in one of the beauty related services
• Languages: Must have basic understanding to write and learn in English
• Age: Must be between ages of 18-35 years
• Criminal Record: You must not have a criminal record of any kind or be under
• investigations for a crime.

Duration of training: 3 Months
Successful Students will be issued with certificates upon completion.
Commitment fee of R250.
